Weekly Update #8

Hi folks!

It's been a busy week. By day I've been sacrificing what remains of my Easter break to finish off our group project at Uni, and we're getting there. At home I've been laying the foundations for the Battle Company.

I have stripped all the painted Space Marines that I received last week successfully, and have managed to salvage three full Tactical squads with a handful of leftover marines. Not only that, but I have fully assembled the two Assault Squads I require, including magnetizing the sergeants.

However, it will be a while before I do any more with them. For the past few months I've been making arrangements for an Urban War tournament at the end of May, and roughly 20 people will be taking part. So between now and then I will be putting the last arrangements into place and cranking out extra terrain. Urban War is a very terrain intensive game, and while our club's collection is more than enough for the regulars, it can't quite cope with 9 or 10 extra tables! Since the terrain is of the sci-fi urban variety, I'll be posting it here as it gets made.

I'd like to ask if any of you have any suggestions for good terrain pieces I could make? Things I can make from items lying around the house are a plus, because I'd like to keep costs minimal. Since Urban War is a skirmish game, we can make full use of multi-level pieces and whatnot, so any suggestions for urban terrain will be appreciated, by me, the tournament participants, and the club (which I will be donating the terrain to afterwards).

I remember there being a few things in the FTW Tutorials section under terrain.

I've never spent alot on terrain, most good stuff can be made with household stuff.

Ah, of course, thanks for the reminder Ron! Looks like there might be a couple of useful articles in there.
